This is a small vase made in Sawangkalok which is located in central Thailand. The area was settled back during the Sukhothai period (14th - 15th centuries, A.D.) and quickly became a center for high quality ceramics. Today the items are decorated with some of the same patterns that were developed during that time period, and this is an example. It is approximately 1 1/2" across, 2" high, and has a matte glaze over a light terra cotta clay. It is not new, but it is difficult to place the age accurately. I would guess it was made in the last 50 years or so. It was purchased from an antiques dealer in Sukhothai.
