This checkers set was made for a game creator in California. The woods used are ebony and birdseye maple for the pieces, African mahogany and zebrawood for the board with a snakewood trim, and maple burl for the box. All was finished with a true French polish built up with shellac and pumice. The board itself is 16 inches square, and the pieces are 1 3/4 inches diameter. A fitted cover was made to protect the board if necessary.
