These two pieces are based on line drawings found in Traditional Carving Patterns by Lora S. Irish (see bibliographical note on the "Links" page for a complete entry). Reminiscent of gremlins, they are nevertheless playful.

The piece on the right is carved in high relief, with a background, from a single piece of basswood, and measures measures approximately 7" square. It has been lightly sanded and finished with oil and wax. The other measures approximately 5.5"x7", and has a tooled finish, with oil and wax.
