This is a beautiful little sculpture of a woman
in a classic pose. She was a labor
of love, and took first place in the 2001 Texas Artistry in Wood Show of the
Texas Woodcarvers Guild, realistic human category for intermediates.
The figure measures approximately 7" long, 2" high, and 2" deep, not including the base.
She is made out of basswood, and finished in oil and wax. The base measures
8.25" long, 4" deep and 1" thick, approximately, and is finished in blonde
shellac. It is contoured to roughly fit the sculpture.
