"Phra Farang" is a Thai style Buddha image made of mesquite with metal leaf hair. He is in a less common, though traditional pose "Stopping Mara". It depicts the moment before enlightenment when Mara offered immediate entry into Nirvana, but the Buddha to be refused so he could stay and teach others.
